Let Freedom Ring
At
the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, America’s families hunkered down. They invested their dollars in items that
would enhance their new stay-at-home lifestyle as well as satisfy their wish to
spend wisely. Big-ticket purchases such
as cars, home appliances and furniture met those needs and gave people a sense
of security in a very uncertain time.
After a year of limiting face-to-face interaction, diligent handwashing
and the development of viable COVID vaccines, communities are ready to reclaim
their fiscal and personal FREEDOM.
As
the era of COVID begins to turn a corner, civilization is finding a way to come
back to life. According to the Commerce
Department, after a lull in spending, Americans are poised to present their
pocketbooks as “passports to paradise” over the next few months. Vacation getaways, food indulgences and other
forms of entertainment are projected to become America’s chosen way to spend
their hard-earned money. People are
throwing caution to the wind as they embrace the redefining of how we live our
everyday lives. In today’s world,
families seem stronger, time is more valuable than money and making memories
through shared experiences are worth the effort. These new ways of thinking appear to be the
silver lining in an otherwise harsh pandemic environment.
While the days ahead will be a balancing act between supply and demand in many different consumer areas, a light at the end of the tunnel seems to be emerging. Looking forward, we need to invest in things that bring joy, devote time to good causes and take part in activities that create personal fulfilment. After all, the freedom to choose has never been more OURS.
